TERMS OF SERVICE

Debateor.com — Last updated: 7 September 2026. English is the controlling language.

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern access to and use of Debateor.com, including rooms, chat, features, content, and virtual items on the service (the “Service”). By accessing, registering for, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service.

1. Who we are

The Service is owned and operated by Alin Stefan Moldovan, trading as RedMirageProject (the “Operator”). The Operator is an Israeli sole proprietor (osek patur). Business address: Mishol Nurit 2, Karmiel, Israel. Israeli ID / dealer number: 328667530.

Any other email addresses that appeared on the site in the past are not in use.

The Service is available globally, subject to these Terms. The user interface may appear in English, Hebrew, Spanish, Arabic, or Romanian. If translations of these Terms conflict, the English text controls.

2. What the Service is

Debateor is a live, user-generated debate platform. Rooms follow a campus / short-video / street-debate format, not a formal parliamentary debate between politicians.

  • Live rooms with video, audio, and text.
  • “On Air” is a directory of rooms that are live now. It is not an official platform broadcast.
  • Crowd voting, a host-controlled timer, a raise-hand speaker queue, and room chat.
  • Permanent branded rooms for users who have a channel.
  • Titan hosts may run rooms and appoint room moderators. The Operator does not place a platform moderator in every room.
  • Users can report content. The Operator reviews reports through its admin tools and may block rooms. No response-time SLA is published. Illegal content is removed as required by Israeli law.

3. Eligibility and age

You must be at least 18 years old to register for or use the Service.

Under section 3 of the Penal Law, 5737-1977, a minor is a person under 18. Debateor’s video and infrastructure providers (including LiveKit and Cloudflare) are not directed at children under 18.

By creating an account you confirm that you are 18 or older and have legal capacity to contract. If the Operator learns that a user is under 18, the account will be closed. Personal data will be handled as described in the Privacy Policy, including deletion where the law requires it and retention where the law requires it.

4. Accounts

Participation that requires an account uses Google sign-in. You authorize Debateor to receive the account information Google provides for that sign-in, as described in Google’s terms and in our Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for keeping your Google account secure, for everything done under your Debateor account, and for telling the Operator if you believe the account was used without permission.

5. User content, live speech, and chat

The Service is user-generated. The Operator does not pre-screen rooms and does not endorse what users say.

The platform does not take a political side and does not filter lawful political speech. Speech that is a criminal offense under Israeli law is not lawful speech and is not allowed.

Every stream, vote, and message is the expression of the user who published it. You warrant that you have the rights needed to broadcast your video, audio, and text, and that your broadcast does not infringe copyright, performers’ rights, or privacy rights of others.

6. Prohibited content and conduct

You may not use the Service to publish or do anything that Israeli criminal, privacy, or intellectual-property law forbids, including:

6.1 Criminal content

  • Terrorism, promotion of a terrorist organization, or incitement to terrorism, under the Counter-Terrorism Law, 5776-2016 and the Penal Law, 5737-1977.
  • Child sexual abuse material, including publication or possession of obscene material involving a minor, including under section 214(b) of the Penal Law, 5737-1977.
  • Incitement to racism, violence, or terror, including under sections 144ב and 144ד2 of the Penal Law, 5737-1977.
  • Public publication of obscenity where forbidden under section 214(a) of the Penal Law, 5737-1977.

6.2 Recording and interception

  • Under the Secret Monitoring Law, 5739-1979, listening to, recording, or copying a conversation without the consent of at least one participant is an offense, with a penalty of up to five years’ imprisonment (sections 1 and 2).
  • A participant in a conversation may generally record it. Section 3 still forbids a recording — even with one participant’s consent — if it is made to commit an offense or cause damage, or to expose intimate marital matters outside a legal proceeding between the spouses.
  • You may not secretly intercept a private conversation on the Service. A public live room is a broadcast to viewers in that room. Hosts and authorized Titan users may use the Service’s own recording and clipping tools as described in section 8. You may not use the Service to wiretap people who are not broadcasting to that room.

6.3 Privacy

You may not collect, publish, or “doxx” another person’s personal data without a lawful basis. Under the Protection of Privacy Law, 5741-1981, as amended by Amendment 13, personal data is any data relating to an identified or reasonably identifiable person.

6.4 Intellectual property

You may not broadcast material that infringes copyright under the Copyright Law, 5768-2007, or performers’ or broadcasters’ rights under the Performers’ and Broadcasters’ Rights Law, 5744-1984.

6.5 Abuse of the Service

No spam, denial-of-service attacks, hacking, malware, reverse engineering that the law forbids, or impersonation of another user, a Titan host, or the Operator. Forgery and impersonation may be offenses under the Penal Law, including section 418.

7. Reporting and removal

Report intellectual-property, privacy, or criminal-law violations with the in-app report tools.

When the Operator receives a valid report of illegal content, it will review the report and may block the room, suspend the user, or remove the content as soon as reasonably practicable. No SLA is promised.

Room hosts and Titan moderators decide who may speak in their rooms. The Operator may suspend an account, remove content, or block a user who violates these Terms or the law.

8. Recording, Reels, and license you grant

  • Rooms are not recorded automatically.
  • The Service can record a room through its live-video provider when recording is turned on and storage is configured. Recording is best-effort and is not guaranteed.
  • Short clips (“Reels”) may be created only by the room host or an authorized Titan user with the Service’s clipping tools. Ordinary viewers cannot clip another user’s stream through those tools.
  • How long recordings are stored is not yet a fixed published period. Storage will follow the Privacy Policy and applicable law once that period is set.

By going live or posting in a room, you grant the Operator, and the authorized host or Titan user of that room, a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to host, display, stream, record, and clip your video, audio, and chat in order to run the Service and to publish Reels from that room. You keep ownership of your original performance, subject to this license.

9. Paid roles, gifts, subscriptions, and cancellation

The Service may offer paid roles, subscriptions, and virtual gifts. Prices can change. The amount you pay is the amount shown at checkout before you confirm.

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.

You do not pay the Operator’s card processor directly. Payment, invoices, taxes, first-line order support, and payment refunds are handled by Paddle under the Paddle Buyer Terms.

9.1 Israeli consumers

If you are a “consumer” under the Consumer Protection Law, 5741-1981 (a purchase mainly for personal or household use), a paid subscription is treated as a distance sale of an ongoing service. For those Israeli consumers:

  • You may cancel within 14 days from the later of the transaction date or receipt of the written disclosure, whether or not the service has started (section 14ג).
  • If you cancel only because you changed your mind, a cancellation fee of 5% of the transaction or NIS 100, whichever is lower, may be charged (section 14ה).
  • You pay only for the period the service was actually provided, and the rest is refunded, as the consumer-protection rules require.
  • A consumer who is a person with a disability, aged 65 or older, or a new immigrant (within five years of status), may cancel within four months if the transaction included an oral or electronic conversation with the Operator, under section 14ג1.
  • Cancellation of an ongoing service takes effect within the statutory notice period (including section 13ד(ג) where it applies).

9.2 Paddle’s standard buyer terms

Under Paddle’s Buyer Terms, a buyer may cancel a subscription at any time, with the cancellation usually taking effect at the end of the current billing cycle, and without a pro-rata refund for time already in that cycle, unless mandatory local law requires otherwise.

9.3 If those rules conflict

Paddle’s standard no-pro-rata rule and the Israeli 14-day / pro-rata cancellation rules are not the same. For an Israeli consumer, the mandatory provisions of the Consumer Protection Law apply and cannot be waived (section 36). Paddle remains the Merchant of Record that processes the payment and the refund. For buyers who are not Israeli consumers, Paddle’s Buyer Terms apply to the purchase.

10. Virtual items and gifts

A paid role, badge, subscription perk, or virtual gift is a limited, revocable, non-transferable license to use a feature on the Service. It is not cash, not property you can sell off-platform, and not redeemable for money, except where consumer-protection law requires a refund of a purchase.

11. Intellectual property

The website, software, design, database, and the names Debateor and RedMirageProject belong to Alin Stefan Moldovan. You receive only a limited, revocable license to use the Service as allowed by these Terms.

You keep ownership of your original speech, video, and audio. The license in section 8 is what allows the Service to carry and clip that content.

12. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” Live rooms depend on your network, other users, and third-party video infrastructure.

Under section 2(ב1) of the Consumer Protection Law, a dealer may not state that it is not liable for bodily injury to a consumer. Under section 36, the Consumer Protection Law cannot be contracted out of.

To the maximum extent Israeli law allows, the Operator disclaims implied warranties and is not liable for lost profits, lost data, or indirect loss. This does not exclude liability for:

  • bodily injury or death caused by the Operator’s negligence;
  • intentional misconduct or gross negligence by the Operator;
  • rights an Israeli consumer cannot waive.

Where a cap is allowed, the Operator’s total liability is limited to the amounts you paid via Paddle for the Service in the six months before the claim.

13. Governing law and venue

These Terms and use of the Service are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

Subject to the consumer rule below, proceedings will be brought in the competent courts of the Haifa District, Israel.

If the dispute is a small claim arising from an internet transaction, regulation 2(ב) of the Small Claims Regulations (Rules of Procedure), 5737-1976, allows the claim to be filed where the consumer or the defendant lives or has a place of business. That consumer venue rule overrides a narrower forum clause.

14. Changes

The Operator may update these Terms. Material changes will be posted on the website or sent to the email on your account. For existing users, changes take effect 30 days after notice, unless the law requires a different period. Continued use after that date is acceptance. If you do not agree, stop using the Service and cancel any subscription through Paddle.

15. Contact

These Terms describe the Service as it operates today. They are not a substitute for advice from an Israeli lawyer on a specific dispute. Paid orders are also subject to the Paddle Buyer Terms for the payment itself.
